Employment opportunities
in Sarasota County abound. Although largely known as a
"service-oriented" workforce, this is changing with the continued
influx of new residents. New home construction has been on the rise
and this trend appears to be long lasting. Along with new homes
comes the need for new and improved infrastructure. Many major roads
and bridges in the county are under construction or have already
completed updating, but this should continue on a ongoing basis.
North Port,
which is in the early stages of major growth, continues to look for
talented engineers and inspectors.
The strong labor market we see continues to drive the need for
additional service sector positions. Combined with the large number
of retirees that Florida's warm climate attracts, there appears to
be no end in sight for this workforce either.
This page provides some excellent resources for finding work. The
Herald Tribune
has consistently contained solid leads, and the weird sounding web
site Flip Dog
also seems to be an excellent resource.
